The Jomsom trek is probably the single most popular trek in Nepal. The diverse landscapes and cultures to be found along the trek route give a marvelous insight into the way of life of rural Nepalese people. The route to Jomsom up the Kali Gandaki River passes through the gap in the Himalayan barrier in the bottom of the deepest river canyon in the world. The valley of the Kali Gandaki River that runs between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Mountain. It offers good view of the mountains with spectacular and varied scenery on the way. The abrupt variation the altitude found here is astonishing. Normally trekkers continue on above Jomsom to Muktinath, the famous pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus. The Gurung and Magar in lower stretches of the Kali Gandaki, Thakali people around Jomsom and people around Jomsom and people obvious Tibet roots, the Loba around Muktinath. Their customs and dress are all quite distinct and this trek gives a chance to see those differences. There are a few options to shorten or extend your trek according to your time. The easiest of the tips mentioned here, it does not rise above 3000m.
