On the River:
Your river guide will give you a comprehensive safety talk and paddle training before you launch off downstream.
- Listen to what your guide is telling you. Always wear your life jacket in rapids. Wear your helmet whenever your guide tells you, and make sure that both your helmet and lifejacket are properly adjusted and fitted.
- Keep your feet and arms inside the raft. If the raft hits a rock or wall and you are in the way, the best you will escape with is a laceration.
- If you do swim in a rapid get into the ‘white-water swimming position’. You should be on your back, with your feet downstream and up where you can see them. Hold on to your paddle as this will make you more visible. Relax and breathe when you aren’t going through waves. Then turn over and swim at the end of the rapid when the water becomes calmer. Self rescue is the best rescue.

The scale is as follows:
Grade 1– Flat water, no rapids, “barely a splash” (Simple & very easy)
Grade 2– Bubbling current, small roller-coaster rapids (Slightly difficult)
Grade 3 – Needs trained guide – technical & exciting rapids (More difficult)
Grade 4 – Seriously big rapids, unforgiving, exhilarating (Very difficult)
Grade 5 – The hair rising limit! (Extremely difficult)
Grade 6 – Unrunnable – “don’t go for it”- portage around (Strenuously difficult)
What to bring and wear:
You’ll certainly get wet. So bring an extra set of clothes for the after trip. We also advised to bring Sport shoes or sandals, T- shirts, Sun hat, Sun glasses, and Sun tan cream can enhance your rafting pleasures. For chilly weather: woolen sweater, warm hat, woolen socks, even down jackets is strongly advised in deep winter.
Have a great time with AAC:
No experience in rafting? Not to worry! We’ll guide you .well, some rivers in Nepal are easy, and some are strenuous. But our guidance will solve your problems. Some requirements, though, must be fulfilled by you. Your minimum age and weight requirements are necessary for your river trip. You need to paddle the raft and thus contribute to your own participatory fun and enjoyment. Weight problems and Physical condition may require medical advice prior to embarking on a rafting expedition.

Our team have opened and run some of the most challenging rivers commercially operated in Nepal and we have maintained a 100 percent safety record while doing so, this means you can enjoy the thrills of adventure expeditions because you are safe in their hands of experts.
